News Update: Israel Helps Syrian Victims But Remains A Syrian Target

As the weakling Syrian municipal war is constantly on the intensify, an unlikely resource of help has been provided to some of those harmed in the fighting—treatment in Israeli healthcare centers. Israeli regulators this weeks time verified that they have handled a multitude of those harmed in the issue such as most lately two youngsters and a nine-year-old boy. The stage of health care available in Israel significantly surpasses that in most around nations, and the sympathy prolonged to those in need, even those from an unfavorable nation, is a statement to the Judaism soul and personality.

It is uncertain what effect a choice by the U. s. Declares and other European abilities to either arm insurgent categories or institution a “no-fly zone” over Syria would have on the issue.

Meanwhile Israel is constantly on the carefully observe on Syria’s innovative weaponry, particularly on their substance and scientific weaponry. Assad has used these weaponry against insurgent causes on several events according to outside reviews. Israel is significantly involved that these weaponry of huge devastation might drop into the arms of terrorists categories who would be more willing to use them than a govt might.

Though actual numbers are difficult to determine, the United Countries reports that more than 90,000 have been murdered in Syrian battling. Tens of countless numbers have been injured, and more than one thousand have left from their houses looking for safe places to cover up from the continuous battling. Many Syrian refugees are living in caverns and even cemeteries, or left across boundaries into Poultry, Lebanon, The the air Jordan and Iraq.

The Assad regime had appeared to be losing the battle earlier this year, but an influx of soldiers from Hezbollah in Lebanon and Iran along with military supplies and equipment from Russia have lately turned the tide back in the government’s favor. Several rebel strongholds have been captured in recent weeks.

   Palestinian Leaders Reject
Unconditional Peace Talks with Israel

Dear Friend,

US Secretary of State John Kerry is going back to the Middle East next week for yet another round of meetings aimed at restarting peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. In advance of the trip, the Fatah faction has sent Kerry a pointed message: “Stop telling us not to insist on conditions ahead of the talks.” The Palestinians have made their participation in any peace talks conditional to a number of concessions that Israel has described as issues that should be viewed as Palestinian goals for outcomes, not demands for beginning talks.

Among the Palestinian demands are an immediate end to construction of homes for Israeli families in East Jerusalem, the release of many prisoners held in Israeli jails, and the acceptance of the 1967 borders as the basis for the creation of a Palestinian state. The Fatah Committee publicly called on Kerry to “put pressure on Israel” to make these concessions as a means of starting the peace process rather than expecting them to come to the table to discuss such issues.

The Obama Administration has made the peace talks a high priority for the second term. Mr. Obama visited Israel a few months ago, and Kerry has made a number of trips to talk to both sides in the conflict attempting to find some means of getting them back to the negotiating table. The Israeli government has proclaimed willingness to begin talks if no demands are made in advance, but so far no movement has resulted.e region.

Bullets on Map of Middle East

With all of the conflicts and threats roiling the Middle East—the bloody Syrian civil war, the growing unrest in Turkey, the collapse of the government in Lebanon, the return of sectarian violence in Iraq and Iran’s continuing nuclear weapons program—the lingering tension between Israel and the Palestinians is receiving a great deal of focus from America and the European Union. Many people believe (or at least profess to believe) that resolving that conflict would bring peace to the entire region.

While we know that there will never be lasting peace until Yeshua returns as Prince of Peace, we can and should pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Today people in Israel live with the constant threat of attack that could come at any moment.

Jewish Voice is committed to doing everything we can to encourage, comfort and bless the poor and needy of Israel. Your financial support today allows us to continue working with more than two dozen ministry partners in Israel to meet these needs. Thank you for your prayers and gifts to enable this great work to continue. God bless you.

Decisions to Ship Arms to Both Sides in Syrian Civil War Sparks Fears in Israel

The decision by the European Union this week to allow the expiration of the arms embargo on military hardware shipments to Syria’s rebels was met immediately with a declaration from Russia that they would increase their shipments of weapons to the Assad government. Both of these announcements sparked fears in Israel, which has been watching developments to the north with a wary eye for months now as the civil war has dragged on.

The United Nations estimates that some 80,000 people have been killed in the fighting, and more than 1,000,000 refugees have fled their homes in search of safety. The fighting has drawn radicals from around the world—Hezbollah terrorists and Iranian “volunteers” to fight for the government, and a number of al Qaeda-affiliated groups to fight with the rebels.

Neither group is one that Israel wants to see furnished with advanced weapons. The lessons of the fiasco in Libya may be forgotten by much of the world, but they are remembered well in Israel, which confiscated huge shipments of advanced surface to air missiles that were given to Libyan forces fighting against the government, but ended up in Gaza in the hands of Hamas terrorists.

 Missiles

Israel’s government responded forcefully to Russia’s promise to send advanced missiles to Syria with a threat to destroy them when they arrive. This is undoubtedly a step Israel would prefer not to take, but the idea of missiles capable of shooting down Israeli military or civilian planes in the hands of those who wish to see Israel destroyed is not acceptable either.

Israel-Syria Border Tensions “More Explosive”

The two-year civil war in Syria has often threatened to spill across the borders into other nations. This week that threat moved even closer to reality as Syrian troops (intelligence reports indicate these were government troops rather than rebels) fired on an IDF patrol jeep near the Golan border. Syria claims to have attacked the jeep inside their territory, but Israel insists the jeep was on Israeli land. Israel responded to the attack with a missile that destroyed the stronghold from which the shots were fired. In a bluntly worded statement, Israeli Defence Forces Chief of Staff General Benny Gantz said, “Israel cannot allow the Golan Heights area to become a comfortable space for Assad to operate from. If he causes [the situation on] the Golan Heights to deteriorate, he will have to bear the consequences.” One reporter described the situation as “more explosive” than anything seen in recent years.

Analysts have long suspected that Assad might attempt to draw Israel into a limited war in an effort to unite his divided country and prop up his tottering regime. Israel’s recent airstrikes to destroy advanced missiles being transferred to Hezbollah terrorists heightened tensions between the two countries. This attack by Syrian forces may be a response to the air strikes, or part of a larger plan to expand the war across Syria’s border and into Israel. Both Hezbollah and Iranian leaders have called for “freedom fighters” to go to the Golan Heights and prepare for attacks on Israel.

Study Reveals Stunning Poverty in Israel

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has just released a study showing that Israel has the highest poverty rate of any developed country in the world.  More than one out of every five people living in Israel is living below the poverty line. And Israelis do not have the same array of social services and safety net that poor people in Europe and America enjoy.
The reality is that tonight thousands of Jewish men, women and children will go to bed hungry. They simply don’t have enough food to eat, and they have no way to meet this urgent and basic need. Many of the poor of Israel are working—they simply don’t earn enough money to cover all of the basic necessities of life for themselves and for their families.

My heart breaks when I read stories like this. And I think of Yeshua, walking among His People, is sorrowing over their needs. The Bible says, When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd (Matthew 9:36). Today I am asking you to share that same compassion that Yeshua felt for these Jewish People in desperate need.
Your prayers and your gift today will allow us to continue working with our ministry partners in Israel to provide food and other essentials of life to the poor of the house of Israel.  There are wonderful doors to present the Gospel being opened through our partnership, but we can only continue to reach out in love as you provide the resources for this work to continue.

The Lord has placed many opportunities for ministry and witness in our path—and as you continue to stand with us, Jewish Voice will keep on doing everything we can to take the Good News of Yeshua to His People and to the world. Thank you so much for being part of this great work with us. God bless you.

Working Poor in Israel Struggling to Get By

A new economic report from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) reveals how difficult life has become for the working poor of Israel.  Unemployment is a widespread problem that has left many in poverty, but even many of those who do have jobs are struggling to get by. According to the study, one quarter of those who are working are “low income”—trying to provide their needs on the equivalent of about $300 per week. As a result poverty and hunger continue to grow among the People of Israel.

The economic hardship in the Jewish State is partly the result of the intense focus the government must continue on defending against current and future attacks, and partly the impact of worldwide economic boycotts being promoted by Palestinian groups and their supporters.  Though the economy of Israel is in better shape than that of many of its neighbors, there is still a serious problem with providing the social and humanitarian needs of the people.

Our goal is to step into this gap and help meet these needs so that we can minister the Gospel of Yeshua to the Jewish People. Jewish Voice has partnered with more than two dozen ministries on the ground in Israel who are working on the front lines to provide urgently needed help to the poor, sick and forgotten.

Truly this is what Yeshua did as He walked through Israel—reaching out to help those in need and proclaiming the Good News. Your prayers and financial support make it possible for us to continue His work in our day.

US Pressuring Israel to Release Palestinian Terrorists from Prison in “Goodwill Gesture”

Members of the Israeli Knesset are reacting with dismay to the pressure from the United States to release a number of Palestinian terrorists convicted of attacking and in some cases killing Jewish People as a “goodwill gesture” to promote the resumption of peace talks with the Palestinians. Secretary of State John Kerry followed the recent visit by President Obama to Israel with a round of diplomacy aimed at restarting the stalled peace process.

Among those the U.S. listed for release are the terrorists who killed Rachel Weiss and her three children, Ephraim, Netanel and Raphael, in 1993 by burning them to death, as well as soldier David Delarosa, who tried to save them. Knesset Member Orit Struk said, “The demand is shocking … not just because of the danger that these terrorists will return to terrorist activity once they are released, but the release of terrorists is an energizing shot of encouragement to terror and terrorists.”

At a time when Israel is facing increasing threats on every hand, it is especially discouraging to the Jewish People to find themselves under pressure from their friends to make even further concessions in the name of a peace that few on the other side seem to want. If there was a genuine willingness for peace, a deal could have been reached. Instead, Palestinian leadership continues to insist on preconditions before talks can even begin—talks that include concessions from Israel that would favor them … again.

The nation of Israel has been pushed to the limit trying to prevent attacks and prepare for potential threats. Israeli Defense Force (IDF) soldiers are mobilizing northern Israel to deal with the threat of chemical and biological weapons falling into the hands of terrorists. Israeli troops are on high alert along the border with Egypt to prevent suicide bombers from infiltrating the country. Israeli missile defense teams are deployed to face the threat of massive air attacks.

Honor for a Murderous Terrorist

Honor for a Murderous Terrorist According to a report in the Times of Israel, the French city of St. Denis yesterday hosted a ceremony to honor a number of Palestinian terrorists. The event was organized by the “National Collective for Just and Viable Peace between Palestinians and Israelis,” a group known by its French acronym, CNPJDPI. Among those being honored was Allam Kaabi, of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). Kaabi was instrumental in planning and carrying out the 2001 assassination of Israel’s tourism minister, Rehavam Ze’evi. Kaabi was released as part of the prisoner exchange that freed captured IDF soldier Gilad Shalit. Kaabi and the other speakers were described as “recently released prisoners” in the promotional material for the event. The fact that such an event could even be held in a Western country that is nominally a friend of Israel is shocking—and a revelation of just how alone the Jewish state is in the world today. Those who honor and celebrate terrorist murderers are really little more than accomplices after the fact. And there is no doubt that men like Allam Kaabi will strike again if they get the chance. This week we received a shocking reminder here in America of what the Jewish People in Israel and around the world live with on a daily basis—the knowledge that death could strike suddenly and without warning at any moment. There is a very real, life-and-death struggle going on around the world between those who wish to kill everyone who does not conform to their view of the world and those who wish to be left in peace.

Friday 12 April 2013

Next week Israel celebrates the 65th anniversary of the miraculous rebirth of the Jewish state in 1948. There is no question that this unprecedented event was the direct fulfillment of the prophecies of Scripture. Yet on the very day that Israel announced independence there were attacks from all sides. Military forces from the surrounding Arab nations invaded in an attempt to destroy Israel before it could be established.

The survival of the tiny Jewish state was another miracle—it cannot be explained solely in the military arena. It was impossible … yet it happened. But of course you know that was not the only desperate struggle for survival that Israel faced. There were major wars in 1956, 1967, 1973 and 1982. And there have been terrorist attacks, raids, missiles, bombings and more throughout the years.

Today as Israel prepares for a milestone birthday, the Jewish state is still a nation on the brink. The old threats of war have been taken to another level by the Iranian nuclear program.  Mushroom clouds over Israeli cities represent the greatest threat of mass murder of the Jewish People since the Holocaust. And these fears are in addition to the knowledge that thousands of chemical and biological weapons next door in Syria could easily slip through the fingers of a crumbling regime into the hands of terrorists.

So while this is a day for celebration and thanksgiving, it is also a day for solemn prayers for God’s deliverance and continued protection. The threat that Israel faces today is not the threat of a massive invasion of numerically superior forces, but a sudden strike with weapons capable of killing hundreds of thousands in a single attack. The Jewish People need the defense of the God of Abraham more than ever right now.
